Savoury Porridge

Ingredients

1 cup instant oats

1 x 2 cm piece ginger, minced

2¼ cups of chicken stock

A pinch of Chinese five spice

A few drops sesame oil

2 soft-boiled eggs

2 thinly sliced spring onions

Chilli oil, to serve

Soy sauce, to serve (optional)

Pinch salt

Method

Place the oats, ginger, five spice, stock and sesame oil into a pot and cook for 5 to 6 minutes stirring regularly until thick and glossy but still soupy.

Garnish with boiled eggs, spring onions, chilli oil and soy if using.
